How much do you know about Guavas?
We tend to only see Guava juice on the breakfast counters at hotel buffets (mmmm), but did you know about its benefits?
Guava is a SUPERfruit. This fruit is often overlooked, but should be incorporated in to your diet due to its variety of benefits - yep, skincare included.
Here is why Guava is good for you…
Guava is good for your health
In the most simple form, here is the general list of why Guava can improve your health. See this article to go in more depth.
Lowers Risk of Cancer
Good for your Brain
Treats Cough & Cold (RICH in vitamin C)
Guava helps you lose weight
Guavas are especially rich in fibre, therefore keeping you fuller for longer. The fibre takes a long time to digest and therefore breaks down slowly in to energy that is useful for your body to expend, rather than a quick crash that leaves you hungry. One guava generally helps you fulfil 12% of your daily fibre intake - MUCH more than in apples and oranges. They are also rich in protein - which is not something prevalent in most fruits.
Lastly, one 100g of Guava is only 52 calories. Not bad for an afternoon or mid-morning snack, eh?
Guava works wonders on your skin
Guavas contain about 1.4 micrograms of vitamin K which helps with overall skin health such as acne, rosacea, dark circles and general skin discolouration. More than this - Guavas contain over 60 milligrams of the FDA daily value of vitamin C which therefore helps with your skin health and its production of collagen - allowing the skin to be overall more firm. Guavas also contain 2.9 grams of lycopene, which is an antioxidant able to rid your skin of harmful toxins.
Will you add more Guava to your diet?
