Level 1 Gong Training
A three day intensive gong training with Martha Collard, Founder of Red Doors Studio, home of the largest collection of meditation gongs in Asia. She is a long time yogi, founding Chairman of the HK Yoga Society, KRI Instructor, professional facilitator and trainer. Teaching with empathy and humor Martha shares her knowledge through a highly interactive workshop designed to empower you to facilitate a state of being that elicits healing and rejuvenation in all that hear you play. This is a complete course in how to play the gong including basic and intermediate techniques. No prior musical or gong experience is required and the course is suitable for beginners as well as those who have some knowledge of and exposure to playing already.
This is an ideal workshop for those who wish to begin their gong journey with expert tuition in the gong space. Martha shares her deep knowledge gleaned from her masters including Don Conreaux, Mehtab Benton, Jens Zygar and others as well as her broad hands on experience playing for a wide variety of audiences in Asia for non-profits, schools, concerts, yoga festivals, cancer patients, executive teams etc.
Over the three days participants will have ample opportunity to deepen their personal experience with this transformative tool. Although gongs are provided, you may bring your own, or even purchase one prior to the workshop. Red Doors does not stock gongs but can provide advice and recommendations on size, suitability and suppliers.

By the end of the workshop you will have the skills required for giving a one on one gong relaxation as well as techniques for playing to a larger group such as a yoga class. Upon completion you will receive a certificate of attendance showing that you demonstrate the basic understanding and knowledge of the art of gong playing.
Attendance is limited to 15 students. Those who pay in full will be given first priority.

A gong puja is a special event where all participants are bathed in the soothing sounds of the gongs for 8-9 hours of continuous play. You may either participate as a member of the team of gong players, each playing for an allotted time or you may come and simply enjoy the entire evening. In either case a entire night of continuous gong will transform at the cellular level.
Participants in the Gong Training Workshop will have first priority and space for the puja is strictly limited. Therefore if you wish to attend, confirm your place by booking and paying in advance.
Things to bring: We have mats and cotton blankets, if you need anything additional, such as a special pillow or teddy bear please bring it for sleeping. A covered water bottle is useful, personal toiletries, a small towel and photos of those that you would like to send healing to. Please wear white. If you have something for the altar, then bring it along. You may also charge your crystals during the night.

Gotta Hit A Gong
The late afternoon of March 31 will be practice time for the workshop students and returning students who wish to brush up on their skills. The objective is to familiarise yourself with the gong and to teach you basic strokes in order to participate by playing the gong during the night. In this 90 minute intensive you will learn the basic stokes and playing.
The workshop is suitable for all levels from: beginners who has never touched a gong but is interested to learn, to those who have some experience and wish to practice their skills. Minimum age 14 years old.
